About the spark problem of high frequency welding equipment

2025-05-28 16:51

Sparking of high-frequency welding equipment will not only affect the welding quality, but may also damage the equipment and molds. The following are some measures to prevent equipment from sparking:

High-frequency welding equipment installation and environment

Reasonable wiring: The power line, control line, etc. of the equipment should be laid reasonably in accordance with regulations to avoid line crossing and entanglement, and reduce electromagnetic interference. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the insulation performance of the line is good to prevent short-circuit sparking due to line damage.

Keep clean: High-frequency welding equipment should be installed in a dry, clean, and well-ventilated environment, and regularly clean the dust and debris on the surface and inside of the equipment. Excessive dust accumulation may cause insulation performance to decline and cause sparking.

Stable grounding: High-frequency welding equipment must have a good grounding system, and the grounding resistance should meet the equipment requirements, generally not more than 4 ohms. Reliable grounding can timely conduct the static electricity and leakage generated by the equipment into the earth to prevent sparking caused by static electricity accumulation or leakage.

Welding materials and workpieces

Material processing: Before welding, ensure that the surface of the welding material is clean, oil-free, and free of impurities.

Workpiece clamping: When clamping the workpiece, ensure that the position is accurate and firm to avoid shaking or displacement during welding. If the workpiece and the electrode have poor contact or the contact area is too small, the local current density will be too large, which will cause sparks.

Equipment maintenance and debugging

Regular maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain high-frequency welding equipment, focusing on whether the connection of components such as electrodes, feeders, capacitors, etc. is loose, whether there is wear, aging, etc. For the problem parts found, they should be tightened and replaced in time.

Parameter debugging: According to the characteristics of welding materials and workpieces, reasonably adjust the welding parameters of the equipment, such as frequency, power, welding time, etc. Improper parameter settings may cause unstable welding energy, which in turn causes sparks. When debugging parameters, the principle of gradual adjustment from small to large should be followed, and the welding effect should be observed at the same time until the best parameter combination is found.

Check insulation: Regularly inspect and test the insulation parts of the equipment, such as insulation pads, insulation rods, etc., to ensure that their insulation performance is good. If the insulation parts are found to be damaged or aged, they should be replaced in time to prevent insulation failure from causing sparks.

UNIFY's high-frequency welding equipment not only has rigorous circuit protection measures to prevent sparks. In addition, most models of high-frequency welding equipment have an ignition protection function. The imported electron tubes combined with the protection circuit we developed ourselves can truly stop the equipment in one hundred thousandth of a second, thereby protecting the mold and equipment and saving the cost of use for customers.
